Our goal at Rock Creek Park Horse Center is to provide our students with a solid foundation both under saddle and on the ground. While our students ride primarily in the ring, there may be periodic theory ‘ground lessons’ as well as additional practice on trails at the discretion of the instructor. Weight limits may apply. If this is a concern, please read our FAQ and consult with our office.
UPDATE FALL 2021:
We are beginning to reintroduce group lessons! If you were a student in March 2020 please sign up for our returning student interest list. If you are a new student please sign up for our new student interest list.
Going forward we will have rolling admissions for all lessons. Classes are organized by age and riding ability. We offer lessons in English riding with an emphasis on hunt seat equitation. We can accommodate beginner riders through students working on jump courses or on flat equitation. Lesson placement will be decided by the programs department and new students may be asked to come in for an evaluation. Once enrolled in lessons student will be charged on a monthly basis.
